Online Customer Web Portal for websites?

We are looking for a ERP/CRM open source project packed with both customer and partner web portals that enable people to sign up new accounts and manage their account activities by themselves, very much like the one you see from Yahoo! Answers, Youtube.com or your eBay accounts, for our website. We’ve talked to NetSuite and they have the stuff we need but we can’t afford the price they quoted us. As for Salesforce.com, well, they have basically everything except one customer/partner portal = one user account; and the price is just way over our head.

Any suggestion? Thank you guys!

It seems like you are looking for something really specific in regards to an application. This can be done, but most likely you are going to have to pay for what you need. I have been writting many .net applications over the past couple of years and would be willing to take on the project for you.

Help with Internet Research using profiles from LinkedIn, UK and Ireland?

Hi, I need to research the following via Google or Yahoo!

We have a data integration solution for Salesforce.com customers called Informatica Cloud. This is the market leader etc and if we can get through to people who are either responsible for or administer their company’s Salesforce.com implementation, we can usually have a meaningful conversation with them about integration.

Specifically, we are looking for people on LinkedIn with the word "salesforce" or "salesforce.com" in their profile. We are looking for people in the UK or Ireland.

I have had the most success searching for public profiles using Google but if you can do a better job using LinkedIn advanced search, that’s fine. I will leave it up to you. The following Google query is a good starting point as it pulls back Uk LinkedIn profiles.

site:linkedin.com inurl:uk.linkedin.com salesforce
site:linkedin.com inurl:ie.linkedin.com salesforce

The first one gives 833k results and the second one, 11k results so we need to do some work to filter these further.

People with the following keywords in their job title are a priority and the list is also given in order of priority:

administrator
salesforce
salesforce.com
Head of CRM
CRM
analyst
sales operations
sales director
VP of Sales
marketing director
VP of Marketing
executive

Furthermore, we don’t need any people who work for Salesforce.com itself as we are already plugged in and connected to these people.

Finally, I would like you to focus on contacts who work in the Utilities & Telecommunications Industries.

So can anyone help me filter results from the two urls that he mentions, cause at the mo I have viewed over 600 profiles and very few are relevant?
Hi everyone

I do not want anyone to do the work for me, just need a few searching tips, as i am very new to this?

You really don’t think people are going to do your work for you for free or do you?

Unless you are going to pay at least £15/20 an hour then you’re on your own!

Can anyone recommend where/if I download a free CRM (customer relationship magaement software) for my MAC US10

My company wont pay for a CRM like salesforce.com Is their anything out there that works with MAC thats free and that works simiarly?

Typically for Enterprise software, I doubt there is anything that you can download and use for free.

You wouldn’t want to run your enterprise business on free software that have no support and no patches and upgrades. Companies wouldn’t do that anyways for free. Linux is probably one exception but that’s just an OS and as far as I know, companies turned Linux into their own ‘supported’ version so you still have to pay in the end.

You can look at the Oracle website and download either their CRM software or you can look at their PeopleSoft or Seibel offering in the CRM area. They are all free to download and try but like I said, implementing and supporting an enterprise application is no easy task. You have millions or billions of dollars riding on your application, why would you want to run it on free software.

Good, cheap e-mail routing system for a small customer service team?

I’m looking for a hosted application that will take my incoming (POP3 email) customer support requests, place them in a queue that my two CSRs can use at the same time. I’d like some basic templates and the ability to run some basic reports. I’ve looked into salesforce.com, but that seems like overkill, and I don’t think it works with POP3 inbound email.

If you have access to a unix system, this can be accomplished pretty easily using free open source software such as Request Tracker and fetchmail.

Where can I buy the following lab equipment?

http://na3.salesforce.com/servlet/servlet.FileDownloadPkb?file=00P50000003yAlt&orgId=00D500000007YR4&pPid=50150000000HLyz

Listed up there: Where can I get it really cheap?
Exactly, I was wondering if I could buy each piece individually, and avoid spending $255

If you follow the link that they provide, their vendor purports to sell it for $255.

how do you pop up a swf that’s not inside a browser window?

like the examples on this page.

http://www.salesforce.com/smallbusinesscenter/faq/

It looks like they are using modal popups which can be done via JavaScript and CSS or if you happen to be coding in ASP.Net, just d/l the asp.net ajax control toolkit / framework and use the compiled modal popup control…. or you can google modal popups and find other solutions.

here is a link to the asp.net ajax modal popup control

How can I post one form to two sources?

I have a contact form setup and when a user hit’s submit, I need to send (via POST) to SalesForce.com and the data needs to also send to my thank you page so that I can send out auto-responses and lead information.

Is there a way to post one form to two pages? Or can someone come up with a good workaround?

PHP or Javascript please.

Thanks
Roland. – I can create the scripts if you can tell me what code will auto post. icon smile How can I post one form to two sources?

Wait just 1 minute! Javascript can do multiple asynchronous POSTs!

with ajax you can do all sorts of submits, partial submits, or whatever! and then leave the big submit in the form to do the standard work.

ajax is pretty difficult to understand or even master if you do all the work yourself!

but with the proper library it’s easy! I use http://jquery.com and a second asych form transmit is trivial code!

Design Company Needs Sales Leads?

Hyqee, (www.hyqee.com) is an advertising design firm. I have googled for companies and applications that might help me give targeted sales leads for my business to grow. In other words, clients for my business. I came across salesforce.com but would like to know exactly if it’s main purpose is lead generation and would like to know if there are any companies online as well that take monthly membership fee and give me quality and genuine sales leads.

Salesforce.com is a CRM (customer relationship management) package. It will help you manage your leads but it is not designed to bring new ones in.

What’s the meaning of this sentence (sales)?

i copied this sentence from wikipedia ..hopefully someone will explain it to me :s

"The Service Cloud provides companies with a call center-like view that enables companies to create and track cases coming in from every channel, and automatically route and escalate what’s important"

In English:

‘It’s a work management and monitoring system’

Which smartphone will do exactly this?

I want to be able to access my work email, Outlook, on a POP server. I also want to be able to access my work calender. Also, is it possible for me to be at my desk updating my calendar while it automatically is updating my calendar on my phone in "real time"… Also, do any phones support Salesforce.com

Most any and all blackberrys will do what you describe pretty seamlessly. Most "smartphones" using Microsoft mobile software are nightmares. I had one for a while, and it took 5 minutes to "reboot" every time it hung up.
